Four bombs are detonated on public transport in London, killing 56 people, including the four bombers. The bombings came while the UK was hosting the first full day of the 31st G8 Summit and a day after London was chosen to host the 2012 Summer Olympics.
Nana and Grandad were in the UK at the time but thankfully nowhere near the bombs.
