Lucky Girl

A month or so ago Courtney's Itouch was dropped accidentally. Today this lucky girl received a very early birthday present from Nana and Grandad. Grandad tricked CJ into thinking she was helping him pick out a ipod for himself. Cheeky! She loved the surprise and is very happy today.

Today Brooke travelled from Kalbarri to Geraldton to collect her jet setting sister up from the airport. With less than 24 hours at home since the Jamboree, CJ arrived to a big hug from her sister.

They were both really excited to see each other.

CJ is pretty happy at the moment because the musician who wrote the song she performed at the eisteddfod posted a message on thecranegirls' Youtube account.

Courtney is away on a Scout camp this weekend. She and the other scouts are preparing for the national jamboree on the Gold Coast in January.

Dad and Brooke enjoyed the first really nice Saturday of Spring inside a movie cinema. They went and saw Hotel Transylvania - it was pretty good.

No Better Medicine

Brooke was really happy to see all her visitors today but most of, the visit from her big sister was most important.

Brookie is still feeling awful but we hope tomorrow will bring some improvement.

The Morning After

Brooke has started to feel better. She is eating and really keen to see Courtney.

We're told she has to wait a couple of days before going home.

Poor Brooke has appendicitis and will have surgery this afternoon. Poor little lady is a fair bit if pain and will be really happy when it's over.

Today is sports day at Brooke's school.

Unearth Perth

Today Brooke and Mum took part in Unearth Perth II with the other kids from Scouts/Cubs.

They spent most of the day exploring Perth and answering questions about our city. Sounds like they had a great day but were both worn out by 3:00pm.

CJ went to a party at a friends house and had a great day watching movies and playing in the park.

Courtney Plays the Eisteddfod

Today CJ performed her first solo performance. She played guitar and sang an Alex Day song, Holding On at the Joondalup Eisteddfod.

Courtney was really brave and hardly missed a beat. We think the adjudicator was happy to see something new and different. We have no doubt CJ will be back next year... in fact Brooke is working hard to get her guitar playing skills up too

New Hair Cut

Courtney has been sporting a new hair style for the last month or so - she loves it!

Academic Award

Last week Courtney received an academic award at school. She is a little bemused as to why because she feels she is just doing what the teachers ask her to.

Lego Day

Brooke has been a little unwell of late. Today Dad got back from holiday and bought with him a Lego present. Brooke got to spend a nice quiet day, constructing her new kit.

Dad was clearly the best skater - once he got enough confidence to go on the ice without his zimmer frame.

No serious stacks and by the end of the two hours we were all skating (in one format or another) pretty well.

More Sleepovers

This weekend Courtney is on a young women's camp with her friend. Brooke had a sleep over birthday party on Friday night and then she had a friend sleep over on the Saturday night. They will both be needing the long weekend to get over it all

Best on Court

Today Brooke played the Goal Keeper role for her netball team for the first time. She was not really keen to try a defense position but she did really well.

Although the team did not win, Brooke was deemed best on court by the umpires.

Annabelle

The girls have a brand new 'puppy'. Annabelle is three years old, she did not have enough room to run around at her old house so she has moved in with the girls.

Annabelle is part kelpie and part greyhound.

CJ took her for her first walk - and they both got soaked in the rain.

This weekend Courtney had a scout camp on rottnest island.

This weekend Brooke has been away on a cub camp - for the senior cubs only. Brooke was the only one from her group that went on the camp but she took it in her stride and had a great time making new friends.

Cooking Night

Tonight Brooke made a banquet in an effort to get her 2nd Cub cooking badge. She had to make a 3 course meal so she made quinoa salad, Thai soy chicken rice and vanilla cup cakes.

Out of the three dishes, Brooke ate one - the cup cakes. The other two dishes almost raised tears in getting her to taste them.

They've set up camp

We hear it is hot in Sri Lanka but the Scouts are having a good time swapping badges and meeting new people.

Sri Lanka

Courtney is currently in Sri Lanka for a Scout camp. She flew to Malaysia on Friday and then over to Sri Lanka this morning. According to Brooke, Mum is 'stalking' her on the internet because she is constantly checking for updates on Facebook and by other media.

Although CJ has not phoned in as yet - we are able to track her contingent via the internet which is giving Mum and Dad some level of comfort.



We hope Courtney has lots of information to blog about when she gets back.

Brooke's 10th Birthday

Brooke has turned ten. She was spoilt rotten and received an Ipod Touch from Mum and Dad as well as some other great gifts from the family.

For her party Brooke chose to have a sleep over party on Friday night, inviting Tara and Louise. The girls ate home made pizza and assorted junk food all night. They all stayed up well past midnight giggling and chatting.



On the Saturday the girls went for a trail ride followed by a horse grooming lesson. It is fair to say Brooke's desire for horses is not fading with 'old age'. That afternoon the girls decorated cup cakes and had a play at home. A really big weekend with some lovely friends for Brooke.

New Week, New Friends

Last weekend, Brooke went to a party went to Thomas' party. A slushy maker and DJ all night (untill 6:30) sounded like a great party!

 

Brooke and I have both made new friends. Brooke met, Tara, Louise and many more. (sorry if i spelt somones name wrong.)

Courtney has new friends, Dale and Jian, both massive fans of DW. (Doctor Who.)

 

This week, Courtney has found ot what lots of homework means, and Brooke found out what extra homework means. I guess getting older does that to you.

Anyway, the girl still love school, (lets see how long it take for me to stop writing that.) and are having fun with both, new and old friends!

First Week

THE WEEK HAS BEEN HARD AND PAINFUL. MANY SOLIDERS HAVE FALLEN...

 

NOT!!!!! This week was great! Both Courtney and Brooke have enjoyed themsleves greatly! (I KNOW, the updates are very late! Stop asking ill do it in a second!)

 

Even though the week was two weeks ago, we will always remember it like it was yesterday... i just can't remember it now!

SCHOOLS BACK: FINALLY!

Yes you read the title right! School is back for twenty twelve! (nothing much happened on New Year so there is no update.) All the sleep overs are...over, with Year 5 for Brooke, and High School for Courtney!   I wonder what happened...

 

What happened:

 

COURTNEY: When I got to school we went to from and lernt about the school rules, no gum, phones off and out Of sight, ect.

We wrote our time table in our diary, then we went to our frist class.  

The day was eventful and hard but now i think i can get to class on time. (I hope) High School is awesome! :D

 

 

BROOKE:Hi CJ did the talking today so I will have to find something to talk about. Sorry for not writing. School is good but I'm not good at spelling. I have Mr Hoblle for my teacher. The holidays were cool I went horse riding but the holidays are over and school is in. It's a harsh class and the teacher is way too fast but I try to look at the bright side and then I dont get too frastrated with myself but if I didn't I probably be really angry.The good side is we do heaps of things on the computers.And that's all. Thanks for reading.

A Very Overdue X-mas Update:)

Christmas was a great event! With O'briens at Grandma and Pa's house, and Xaiva at Nana and Grandad's, the day was awesome!

 

The day started with, Courtney opening her massive Doctor Who, framed photo from santa! (thanks big guy) and Brooke with her, very awesome, new Wii game, Spiro Scylanders. She was very impressed with the concept of the game and the storyline. (on the last level now!)

 

At the grandperents, everyone loved lunch, (thank you grandma and helpers!) and loved every present they got! Brooke got a new remote racing car, Courtney, meanwhile, with an amazing new braclet from Sea World!

 

Nana and grandad, cooked and awesome dinner, and had more than a whole army could eat! Courtney loved/loves her red telephone box and helicopter, While Brooke had a ball with her red helicopter as well!

 

Over all, the day was... awesome and full of fun.

Back to School

The girls are back in school and settled into 2012. CJ is loving high school and Brooke tells us Year 5 is the best year of school.

Brooke's Trial Ride

After a few false starts, today Brooke has her first ever real horse ride. In the past, she has been lead around by someone but today she went for a 90 minute trail ride, during which she even managed a few trots.

It is fair to say Brooke's passion for horses has grown.

The girls are on holidays in Busselton and one of the best things about the accommodation is the staircase. The girls have always wanted to live in a house with stairs - but we're not sure they would last long like this without hurting themselves.

Today at school, Courtney and the other students from her guitar glass played for the whole school.

Courtney Gets a Quad Helix

Courtney is going to get braces on her teeth in time. Her dentist says that before she can get the braces he needs to push out to roof of her mouth. Courtney has had a "quadhelix" installed is sprind loaded and over time will make the roof of her mouth wider.

She says it doesn't hurt that much?!?!

Today the girls and their Scout/Cub groups helped out with Mac Happy Dayby holding a car wash. The group raised over $500.00
