Busy Week

In the last week. Brooke turned six years old and she is certainly feeling a lot older and bigger. The whole family went to Sizzler (for the last time) and then back to the girl's house to cut up the dog cake that Brooke had ordered from Mum's book.

Then on the weekend it was Easter. The girls were very spoilt by the Easter bunny but the girls have not made much of a dent on the loot they scored. In fact the girls have taken to running a raffle to give their eggs away to family members.

After a day of sitting in front of Nintendo, Pa and Dad managed to convince the ladies to go down the beach this afternoon. CJ initially didn’t want to go but after half an hour or sun, sand and surf – they are already hanging out to go to the beach again…. and play Nintendo DS.

Last day being 5

Tomorrow is Brooke’s 6th birthday – She is very excited. Tonight Brooke and Mum finished the book they have been reading for weeks, it’s called something like – Tales for a 5 years old. They were both very excited when they read the last story tonight (good timing)

Tomorrow night we are going to Sizzler so Brooke can try some new foods – being 6 and all.

Today at school the girls had a “multicultural lunch” where everyone bought a different dish from wherever they/their family came from. Courtney tried a party pie that “tasted like ice”

Yanchep National Park

This little photo was taken when Aunty Kirstie took the girls to look at the caves in the National Park in Yanchep, on Christmas Eve last year.

The girls loved all the “crystals” that were growing in those caves.

Home Economics

Mum and Dad have reached the end of their tether with the girls and the state of their rooms etc. The girls are earning pocket money (for real this time), they get $2.00 for each day that they clean their rooms, help out around the house, get themselves ready for school and do their homework etc… However, the down side for them is that they have to pay for EVERY luxury in their life…. They have to pay for McDonalds, the little treats that they beg for… everything – at least that is the plan.

Let’s see who ends up in tears first.

Crazy Hair Day

Today was Crazy Hair Day at school. As you can see, Mum certainly put a bit of effort into making the girls hair “crazy”

At Jurien Bay

Last Saturday Courtney and Brooke and Dad went to Jurien Bay

And of cause when Brooke found a my little pony princess she wanted to play with it.

The nest day we all went to the Pinnacles and are BIG!

The Long Weekend

The long weekend was fairly eventful for the girls. On Saturday we went to the work picnic again. Mostly it was the same, except for the rock climbing wall that Courtney was dying to have a go at. She was so brave and climbed a lot higher than Dad thought she would.

Sunday we went to Jurien Bay and got to see the Ando's new house. Monday the girls took a day trip to Cervantes and the Pinnacles, which they thought were pretty special.

Well Dad has been away in Langkawi – Much to his dismay, the girls
barely seemed to notice that he was gone all week, but they did like
the little gifts that he bought home.

The girls have really settled into the school year and they are both
having a great time. Mum and Dad went for a parents night at the
school the other day and found out that CJ will not be getting any
homework for the whole year – how times have changed.

Brooke started dancing classes today – which was a bit of a
spontaneous decision after she heard that other kids in her class
were going.

Just about everyone around the girls has reached the point of
throwing the Nintentdo DS out the window because it causes so many
squabbles – No prizes for guess what is on the top of Brooke's
birthday wish list.

Skyshow 2008

The girls had a quiet Australia Day, staying indoors and cool mainly. Then they went into Mum’s work where we all got to stand on the roof and watch the fireworks over the city. It was fairly impressive but not enough to stop the girls from playing Nintendo or chatting to the other kids for very long.

Swimming

Today, Grandma and Dad took the girls to the swimming pool. We’re all worn out this afternoon.

Dunsborough - The Beach

The girls (and Dad) were lucky enough to be invited down to Dunsborough for a little getaway with the O'Briens. We had a great time, the kids all shared a room upstairs and strangely enough there was not too much mucking around at bed time, most likely as the kids were exhausted after all the days activities.

For a young lady who was claiming a couple of weeks ago that she hated the beach, Courtney was having a great time.

Christmas 2007

Again, the girls were well and truely spoilt by Santa and the family. The morning started at the girls house, where Santa had left behind a brand new bike for Brooke - which has NO training wheels and is really big.

Then we went to Pa and Grandma's house where all of the 7 grandkids went into a frenzy pulling the wrapping off all the presents. It was too hard to keep up with who was getting what and from where.

Brooke's First Tooth

Brooke's first tooth fell out today. She is fairly confident that the tooth fairy lets you keep the first one, but still leaves you the money.

Picnic Day

The girls went to another picnic outing today and got up to all their old favourties. Fairy floss, hotdogs, ice creams and softdrinks and lots of rides. The girls got to see santa and he had a present for each of them.

They had a wonderful day, Brooke called it the best one yet. CJ drove the bumper cars all by herself - big girl.
