The Other Crane's Visit

Cameron and Mackenzie have been in Donnybrook for the last week but on their way home to Karratha, they dropped in to see Courtney and Brooke for one more night. We all went to the five slide park and fed the ducks.

Anzac Day

Today Dad and Courtney got up early to go to the Anzac Day march. CJ marched in uniform with all the other cubs and scouts, following the service men and women. Next year we think we might go to the really big dawn service in Kings Park.

Afterwards we had McDonalds for breakfast. 

Brooke had a big sleep in - maybe next year.

Courtney Turns Ten

Believe it or no, Courtney is 10 YEARS OLD! Amazing.

She had a wonderful little party with the family, including Cameron and Mackenzie, who were down visiting from Karratha. Unfortunately, Dad was away with work - so he'll have to make it up next year.

4th Tooth and the Theatre

Today Brooke lost her 4th tooth - the other upper front one. She is now missing her two front teeth. Brooke was playing at recess and her friend Kaitlin elbowed her in the mouth accidently. No real harm done and Brooke is not holding any grudges.

Tonight Dad took the girls to see a stage show, The Nargun and the Stars. It was really good. The girls were amazed by the huge puppets as well as the story. It was great to see them really soaking it all in.

Happy Birthday Pa

Today was Pa's birthday. As a special "treat" he got to take Courtney to cubs and stayed as the parent helper. Courtney was really happy to have him come alone. We think Pa had a good time as well. Pa taught CJ how to tie a bowline (knot) and she is now roping loops to her bed head at night.

In the Wars

Dad has been away for the last fortnight. Poor little Brooke, she had few days off earlier in the week with a sore throat and the suddenly broke out into school sores.



Being unable to go to school but really not having anything wrong with her, Brooke got to go swimming at Nana and Grandad's house everyday. Yesterday Brooke was pool side and stepped on a bee, getting stung on the foot. Her first bee sting.

CJ has been busy herself with swimming and cubs. No doubt she will have school sores next week.

More Swimming

The girls are all set for school to go back tomorrow. Brooke has the same teacher as she did last year and CJ has a new teacher to the school. They are both worn out from school holidays and are looking forward to the break.

Today the girls went with Dad to a BBQ with his work mates. Lots of kids and a swimming pool, so you can guess what the girls did all day.

James goes home

James' holiday at Grandma and Pa's house has come to an end. Yesterday, Grandma and Pa took the kids to the museum and Sizzler for dinner. Both were obviously a hit.

Face Painting

Well, it was suppose to be face painting - but evidently the got carried away and the session soon became body painting...

Australia Day

The Perth Eye

... or whatever it is called. Today Jame's Aunty Jude came and took James, the girls and Dad out for the day. We went on the new observation ferris wheel on the Perth foreshore, Hungry Jacks for lunch and then off to the cinemas to watch Bolt in 3D.

A pretty good day all up.

James Arrives

Cousin James has come to Perth for a holiday with his Grandma and Pa - and the Crane girls.

After a little confusion at the airport, the girls met James and then it was off home for a quick bite of lunch and then 10 pin bowling. Courtney won by a single point over James with Brooke two points behind James - very close. Brooke and James both got a strike and CJ a couple of spares.

Big News

We know it has been a long time since the last post. Dad is working at it and there will be some photos and stories very soon. That said - the big news today is that the girls have a new cousin. Xavier Hunt arrived safely today. Uncle Peter and Aunty Kirstie are both doing well, as is their beautiful baby boy. We all know that the girls will be very keen to lend a hand where they can. Congratulations!

Jurien Bay

This weekend the girls went with Dad to see the Ando's in Jurien Bay. They had a great visit to the beach, CJ was a little concerned about swimming in the ocean but she faced her fear with little steps - who knows, she may like it one day.

That night the girls made a party for the adults. Indoor soccer and pin the wings on the butterfly. A great night.

The tooth

Brooke's loose tooth had been giving her grief for days and days - it had to be the most stubborn thing known to any little girl. Mum and Dad took the girls to Thai for dinner and Dad was just about to shout down Brooke for getting off her chair and making too much noise in the restaurant... then he worked out she was shouting "My tooth" whilst picking it up off the floor.

The gap that has been left appears huge. Brooke looks like a title fighter at the moment.

The tooth fairy left two dollars - and the tooth at Brooke's request.

Underwater Camera

The girls started the year with giving Dad's new camera a work out. We'll soon proove if Olympus' claim of water/shock/dust proof is legit.
